Lynden David Hall – Sexy Cinderella – Forgive me – All You Need Is Love – Day Off
Lynden David Hall – Britain born in London on May 7, 1974, discovered classic soul music as a teen after he was expelled from school for fighting and sent to live with his record collector father. Lynden David Hall self taught himself to play guitar and soon began composing his own songs, recording his first demo sessions while he attended the British School for Performing Arts in Croydon.
Hall‘s demos landed on the BBC Radio 1 desk of DJ Trevor Nelson, who signed the singer to EMI and a debut LP – Medicine 4 My Pain – followed in the autumn of 1997, earning critical raves but selling poorly until the remix for – Sexy Cinderella – cracked the U.K. Top 20 in 1998. The album went on to sell in excess of 100,000 copies and earned Hall the Mobo Award for Best Newcomer of 1998.
2000, the follow up album – The Other Side – lead Hall’s contract to be terminated.
2003, Hall appeared in the romantic comedy Love Actually as a wedding singer, and 2 years later resurfaced with his third LP- In Between Jobs on the independent label Random which at the same time of its release Hall fights for his life battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma disease, and claimed his life on February 14, 2006 at just 31 years of age.
